We Don’t Just Make Soap. We Make Choices.
At The Honest Goat, we’re not just making skincare—we’re making decisions. Every balm, bar, and candle we create is a choice to do things differently. To step away from waste, shortcuts, and plastic—and toward something honest, simple, and good.
Here’s what that looks like.
Real ingredients. Zero waste.
Our soaps are made with local lard and tallow—nutrient-rich fats that would otherwise go to waste. This not only makes our soap incredibly nourishing, but also reduces reliance on imported oils and cuts down on environmental strain.
Paper-wrapped soap. Reusable everything else.
We wrap our soaps in recyclable paper—no plastic, no fuss. All of our other products—lip balms, lotion bars, tallow balms, and candles—come in reusable containers like tins and glass jars that can be used again and again.
Biodegradable and backyard-safe.
Many commercial soaps and detergents contain synthetic ingredients that pollute waterways and harm wildlife. Our products are made with biodegradable, recognizable ingredients—no sulfates, no phthalates, no dyes.

Waterless = waste less.
Most lotions are 60–80% water, which means they require preservatives and usually come in plastic. Our waterless formulas last longer, require fewer resources to produce, and give your skin nothing but the good stuff.
Candles that clean, not pollute.
Most store-bought candles are made with paraffin, a petroleum byproduct. Ours are made with lard and beeswax—clean-burning, naturally fragrant, and toxin-free.
It’s not just what we make—it’s how we make it.
Everything we offer is handcrafted in small batches, right here in Virginia. No factories, no wasteful overproduction. Just real people making real things, the way it used to be done.
Better ingredients. Less waste. Smaller footprints.
That’s what we’re here for.
We don’t just make soap.
We make choices.
